A new retrospective
of Art Spiegelman’s work opens today at the Jewish Museum in New York.
Spiegelman is a little ambivalent about the prospect of having a
retrospective, but he is happy to revisit works ranging from his early
childhood cartoons to his seminal graphic novel, “Maus,” to his
post-9/11 drawings. In this video, Spiegelman tours the gallery with his
wife and collaborator, Françoise Mouly, and the curator Rina Zavagli-Mattotti, who organized the original retrospective in Angoulême, France.
